Shoezooz Help Kids Put Their Shoes On The Right Feet

How many times are you on the way out the door with your child only to realize they have their shoes on the wrong feet yet again? Shoezooz to the rescue! Help your son or daughter become more independent with the help of Shoezooz Stickers.  These moisture proof vinyl stickers fit inside their shoes to help them differentiate the left from the right using a picture — no reading required!  A picture of the front half of an animal (cow, pig, or sheep) goes in the left shoe while the back half of the animal goes inside the right shoe.  Children only have to put the animal together to know which shoe belongs on which foot.  Give them a sense of independence, help build their confidence and get out the door on time with Shoezooz Stickers.  A set of 3 retails for around $6.

BaubleBar Aqua Turquoise Drop Earrings

As seen in Instyle Makeover Magazine, these are the epitome of bohemian chic. What a great pair of semi precious jade gemstones to wear for spring and summer. Heck I would wear them now since it is such a great contrast to all the dark colors you have been wearing all winter long. Why not pair this with a great black cashmere sweater and coated denim jeans and ankle booties and let these earrings be the focal point of your outfit? These are just too good to miss at $28. AND in the summer wear them after a day at the beach to show off your tan with a maxi dress and flip flops.

BaubleBar Turquoise Aqua Jade Drop Earrings for $28.

2012 Long Hairstyles

2012 long hairstyles

For 2012, long hairstyles are chic and classy. Whether you wear it straight or wavy, find a look more suited for you will be a breeze. Long hairstyles will always be the classic female look that will turn heads.

2012 Mid-Length Hairstyles

mid-length hairstyles

Though labeled as boring and uninteresting, mid-length hairstyles will finally get its due this year. It can be quite difficult to find a medium length hairstyle that’s bold or sexy but if you’re willing to put in the effort, you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish. Add some romantic curls like Selena Gomez or go for a straight blowout like Jamie King. Better yet, an effortless chic, pinned up hairstyle will always do the trick!

Styles from the Runway: Side part, Center part, Pinned hairstyle, Chignon

2012 Short Hairstyles

2012 short hairstyles

Short haircuts are being called the “fresh new do” for 2012. Ladies have been rockin’ this hairstyle trend for ages but for 2012, we’ll see a lot more innovative looks. Just look at celebs like the ever so talented Michelle Williams and Harry Potter star Emma Watson who recently chopped off her hair for a pixie crop which will see more of in 2012. What’s fantastic about short hairstyles is that they are easy to manage. So, if this is a look you want to try for 2012, remember that short hairstyles look best when your haircut frames the curves of your face.

YBF Brighten, Hide and Sculpt Concealer

For a company with such a great product, there is little information about who they are and what they have to offer. I recently discovered YBF Brighten, Hide and Sculpt Concealer ($28.50) and it beats any other concealer I have tried previously. The product comes in a sturdy, portable three shade container with light, medium and dark shades. It is a cream-based concealer that goes on so smoothly that it feels like a second skin. The shades blend well together for contouring or for different season’s depending on your skin’s exposure level to the sun. The YBF concealer made my skin look fresh, matte and smooth without appearing like product. When I didn’t have time to put on foundation, I used YBF as an all-over treatment and it provided maximum coverage. YBF is an inexpensive line with a solid product. However, they are limited in their product range and their website seems more like a blog than an informative, shopping experience.

Forever 21 Pick of the Day: Silky Spring PJ Pants, $12.80

I

It’s so hard to find cool pajamas in prints that aren’t to matronly or too childish. The print, and the price is right with these Silky Spring PJ Pants, $12.80, a soft, silky poly-spandex woven blend with the right balance of tradition and style. Pair with a tank, tee, and on those extra cold days,  our favorite casual luxe item — a cashmere hoodie!

Supermodel Sasha Pivovarova Lends Her Sketching Talents to GAP Body!

Beauty, style, an eye for art — some girls just have all the talent, don’t they? But it’s hard to hate Russian supermodel Sasha Pivovarova when her most recently-tapped talent translates to super-cute skivvies for us shoppers! Best known for her piercing looks and frequent appearances on designer runways far and wide, the supermodel also happens to be quite the sketcher and spends much of her backstage and off-the-runway time channeling her inner Picasso. Now her extraordinary side hobby, along with her fashion know-how, has inspired her own capsule collection for GAP Body. The collection, which has just begun rolling out pieces in stores and online, includes satin bralettes, “girl shorts,” and more modest lingerie pieces like camis, and all feature Sasha’s hand-drawn sketches. Aside from being cute, quirky, and unique, these pieces are also a bargain, with undergarments starting at just $19.95! If you aren’t a sucker for affordable designer collabos yourself, they also make the perfect gift for the girl who loves cozy and cute lingerie! If you like what you see so far, be sure to watch out for more pieces that will be gradually released through the new year!

Drugstore Buy of the Week: Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara Review The good news is Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara is a fantastic mascara for a drugstore price. It will lengthen, define and even leave your lashes soft and silky. However, if you were looking for significant lash growth, I’m not sure this is the product for you.

The formula and brush however are brilliant! It gave me tremendous length, volume and great definition without any clumping or flaking. I was able to get into the inner and outer corners with the narrow brush tip design as well to get them fully coated.

The plus is that this wet mascara formula (it does take a few minutes to fully dry) does contain ingredients that make the lashes super soft and silky, and the effect after three coats definitely compares to wearing false eyelashes. If you need more curl however, it’s best to curl lashes before using this formula. After using for almost a month exclusively, I can say that my lashes became slightly longer, and were very soft and smooth to the touch.

The mascara lasts all day with no running or rubbing off, and it was easy to remove with both cleanser and makeup remover at the end of the day.

So, all in all, I recommend this mascara to give you “va va voom” lashes that will also be silkier and smoother. If you do find it also make your lashes longer as a result – then that’s a great bonus, isn’t it? – RLB

In These Shoes: Loeffler Randall Natane Sandals

Back in my personal wish-list entry in my holiday gift guide, I featured Loeffler Randall’s crushed blue velvet Natane lace-up stilettos, noting that I was watching them like a hawk in case they went on sale. Saks.com marked them down the day after Christmas, but, alas, by the time I got to them, only size 10 was left (and those are long gone now). After I finished mending my broken heart, I came across the next best thing. They might not be blue velvet, but the metallic lizard version is the silver, er, gold lining in the cloud. They are still available on Loeffler Randall’s website and, even better, are on sale, although still on the pricey side, at $313. Still, have you seen a pair of shoes that so deftly toe the line between glamorous and edgy? And in spite of the 105mm heel (about 4 inches), I’ll bet that, like every other pair of Loeffler Randall shoes I own, they’re quite comfortable. While I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for another markdown, if these babies are still around by my birthday, I think I might have found my present to myself.
